I can recommend Barbara without reservation as an Interior Designer and Project Manager. I know her design sense, I know her work ethic, I know how she deals with others, I know she is resourceful and spends time learning about new products and I know that my satisfaction was always her top priority.
I first met Barbara in 2004 when I remodeled my 1957-era Kitchen and Bathroom. It was a major Interior Design job that included cabinets, countertop, backsplash, flooring and paint. We moved Kitchen appliances and Bathroom shower and tub. I would never have had the vision or courage to do that.
Several years later I decided to add a Master Bathroom. I called Barbara and she created a Bathroom that still feels fresh and new and coordinates with the rest of the house. It doesn’t look or feel like an addition and there isn’t a thing I would change.
More recently I decided that I wanted to redo all the floors in the house, using a tile that looks like wood. At first I thought I could just do the floors as a stand-alone project, but when I started thinking about other things I’d like to do I realized I had a large remodeling project and I knew I wasn’t knowledgeable enough to handle all the details, including the different trades that needed to be coordinated. I asked Barbara to be the Interior Designer and Project Manager, starting with scoping out what I wanted to do, arranging site visits to contactor’s previous jobs, obtaining bids from the contractors and helping me decide on the general contractor I used. We also worked with an engineer and permits with the city planning dept.
In addition to replacing the floors, base and crown molding we moved a wall, and in the Kitchen we kept the cabinets but replaced appliances, changed the sink, faucet, countertop and backsplash. She shopped products, bringing samples to the house and taking me on “field trips” to look at barn wood, crown moldings, window coverings, sink, faucet, etc. Barbara located a very special Kitchen sink, a great light fixture for the enlarged Dining area, chose new paint colors for the whole house and new window blinds. A closet was also designed and added in the Master Bath. We also used old barn wood accents at the front door.
Barbara kept close control over the progress and payments I made as we went along throughout the job.
Each of my projects was different, we weren’t copying from one project to the next. I’ve lived in my finished house for months now and can say I wouldn’t change a thing. Barbara managed to update everything without unnecessary work or expense. She kept the contractor on schedule, she worked with all the suppliers, she listened to me and made sure the elements we used reflected my taste and what I wanted my house to look like. My house is so open now; it looks fresh and contemporary. It has the farm house touches I wanted, but it still has a timeless look and style that I can’t imagine changing.

First time working with Barbara, I got nothing but respect and love. The selection of materials, colors, lighting, etc. was so organized and made the process to go smoothly. Extra time was taken during many walk-throughs to make sure we had things just the way our client wanted it. I was very pleased to work with her. Looking forward to working with you in our next project!!
